Angle | The main storyline of a feud. |
Blade | This is when a wrestler cuts himself with a razor blade to make it look like his opponent has injured him. The blade is sometimes hidden in the tape on their wrists. |
Booker | This is the person who comes up with the major angles, picks the winner of matches, changes wrestlers gimmicks, and hires ane fires wrestlers |
Bump | When a wrestler takes a hard fall. |
Dark Match | A match that is not aired on television. Usually shown before Raw and Smackdown |
Face | The good guy, the fan favorite. Also known as a babyface. |
Feud | When two wrestlers or tag teams fight with each other over a long period of time. |
Heat | When a wrestler gets a great amount of boos from the crowd. |
Heel | The bad guy who is hated by the fans. |
House Show | Wrestling show that are held in towns and cities across America but are not shown on TV. |
Job | To lose the match. |
Jobber | Wrestler who always loses his matches to make his opponents look good. |
Juice | Blood |
Kayfabe | To stay in character. |
Mark | Fans who think all the angles in wrestling are real. |
Mid Carder | Usually a well known wrestler but wrestles on the undercard. |
Over | When a wrestler's gimmick is accepted by the fans or when a wrestler receives a great amount of heat. |
Pop | The crowd's reaction to a wrestler. |
Push | When a wrestler goes on a long winning streak. |
Run In | When a wrestler runs into another's match and interferes, such as Edge and Christan |
Screw Job | This is when a match ends in a DQ, count out, or no contest. |
Sell | This is when a wrestler makes a move look real. |
Shoot | This is when something that wasn't supposed to happen does happen. |
Shoot Interview | Interview where the wrestler breaks character. |
Spots | The great highlights of a wrestling match. |
Tweener | A wrestler that isn't a heel or face. For a while you could say Shawn Michaels was a "Tweener". |
Work | An angle or scene that is planned out ahead of time. |
